Katrina Barry is an astute and experienced team manager with over thirteen years of dedicated service within the Tasmanian and New South Wales Workers’ Compensation Schemes. Her career is marked by a commitment to leading and supporting cross-functional and jurisdictional teams with honesty and integrity. She excels in providing strategic advice and exceptional customer service to both external and internal clients and stakeholders.
Katrina’s organisational skills enable her to manage, prioritise and meet the often-competing demands of clients and stakeholders. A key pillar of Katrina’s skillset involves her strong attention to detail and her ability to provide bespoke approaches to unique challenges.
Katrina’s legal expertise includes extensive experience working with law firms within the Tasmanian Workers’ Compensation Scheme, and handling conciliations and hearings for common law claims and disputes. She liaises with these firms to ensure factual and surveillance investigations meet client and insurer requirements while staying within legislative confines. Her professional experience includes roles such as Team Manager and Senior Claims Specialist at Catholic Church Insurance, where she specialised in Managing the long-term tail and psychological injury claims Teams.
When away from the office, Katrina enjoys cake decorating, vegetable growing and travel. She was also one of the youngest females to fly solo in Tasmania back in the 80s. She was certified to fly solo before she could get her car licence, and she was one of the first six female commercial aircraft engineer apprentices in Australia.
